Service Description

A downsize appointment is performed to replace longer initial jewelry with a shorter, properly fitted post once swelling has reduced during healing.

For many piercings, downsizing is an important step in the healing process. Wearing jewelry that is too long for too long can contribute to excess movement, irritation, pressure, healing delays, and accidental trauma.

During the appointment, a piercer will evaluate healing progress, inspect the piercing, and determine whether downsizing is appropriate and safe at that time. If the piercing is not ready for a downsize, no charge will apply for the appointment.

Clients returning to Tacoma’s Best Piercing for downsizing on piercings performed by our studio receive preferred pricing as part of our continued healing support process.

($50 service fee + $20 per implant-grade flatback post)

Most appointments are completed within 10–15 minutes. Appointments are limited to a maximum of 4 downsizes. If you need more, please book separate appointments or text us at 253-301-9861
