General Identification Policy:
In accordance with Washington State laws and regulations, all piercing services performed here at TBP require the completion of a digital release form with valid ID from our clients. Please see the list below for the types of ID's we can and will accept.
Forms of identification we DO NOT ACCEPT:
- Military IDs
- Social Security Cards
- Tax Returns
- Insurance Cards
- Expired IDs
- Punched IDs
Forms of identification we ACCEPT:
- Driver’s License (from any state)
- State ID (from any state)
- Passport
- Birth Certificate for minors (We need photo ID for clients ages 18+)
Policies for Minor Piercings:
Per state of WA regulations and our insurance:
- Minors must be accompanied by a parent and/or legal guardian.
- Both the minor and the parent/legal guardian must bring valid IDs and upload the required documentation into the release form to verify identity and parent/legal guardianship.
In the case that the minor getting pierced and their guardian have the SAME last name:
- The guardian must bring/upload an ID that shows their full name. Refer to the list above for acceptable IDs.
- The minor must bring/upload a form of ID that shows their full name. For minors, we will also accept School IDs. Many schools have online portals (ex. Skyward) where their guardians are listed. We will accept screenshots of this portal as long as the names of the minor and guardian are both listed.
In the case that the minor getting pierced and their guardian have DIFFERENT last names:
- The guardian must bring/upload an ID. Refer to the list above for acceptable IDs.
- It is most often best/easiest to bring a birth certificate.
- In cases where the guardian of the minor is not their parent, guardians can bring/upload paperwork showing change of guardianship or adoption.
- Many schools have online portals (ex. Skyward) where their guardians are listed. We will accept screenshots of this portal as long as the names of the minor and guardian are both listed.
We WANT to pierce you as long as it’s by the book. We understand that every situation may be different, so don’t hesitate to contact us at tacomasbestpiercing@gmail.com with questions/requests surrounding this policy. For your convenience, we offer the option to pre-emptively upload an ID for minors on all of our minor piercing appointments. By pre-emptively uploading the required documentation, the check-in process may be faster and help prevent forgotten documents at the appointment. If you'd prefer to not pre-emptively upload an ID into the minor appointment booking, simply take a blank picture in it's place and be sure to bring it to your appointment.
Yes, we understand that these measures may seem extreme to some, but they are in place due to reasons such as:
- Minors finding others (aunts, uncles, friends, etc) to impersonate their parent/legal guardian. This leaves us in a bad position when their parent doesn’t want them to get pierced.
- Our insurance policy.
Failure, for adults and minors, to present proper ID will likely result in being charged a cancellation fee and/or being rescheduled.

Appointments & No-Show Policy
Clients are responsible for reviewing our pricing, ID requirements, and minor piercing policies before booking and before arriving to their appointment. By booking an appointment, clients acknowledge that a card is kept on file as collateral for late cancellations, no-shows, and appointments that cannot be completed due to missing requirements.
Clients who arrive without the required valid ID for themselves or their minor, do not agree to the listed starting price, decide not to be pierced or serviced at the last minute, or leave during their appointment may be charged a non-refundable cancellation/no-show fee.
Our no-show fee is equal to the full starting price of the booked service, including basic jewelry, as listed on the booking page and website. If multiple services were booked, the fee may apply to each booked service.
We offer a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. Clients who arrive too late to be serviced, cancel within 3 hours of their appointment or do not show up may be charged the full starting price of the booked service.
Appointments can sometimes be booked within the 3-hour cancellation window. This policy still applies regardless of when the appointment was booked.
For late arrivals, cancellations, or appointment issues, please text us at (253) 301-9861 as soon as possible. Texting us does not guarantee same-day accommodation, but it gives us the best chance to work with you.
Walk-Ins
We love seeing people whether it be appointments OR walk-ins! We will post walk-in availability on our social medias (FB, TikTok, Instagram). You can also text us to check what our walk in availability looks like for said day. Wait time for walk-ins will vary depending on the day and the volume - we can not give an accurate estimated wait time over the phone (as people can come in between the time that said phone call ends and said person on the phone comes in).
We stop taking walk-ins either at closing time or when servicing the current volume of walk-ins and/or appointments would extend beyond closing hours.
*There is no maximum wait time for walk-ins. Clients are given an estimated wait time and are more than welcome to wait in our lobby. During this time we often have clients fill out paper work and choose jewelry. We suggest walk-ins when the client has more flexibility in their schedule, appointments are best for clients who would like to be seen at or around a specific time.
