Booking an Appointment
Tacoma's Best Piercing is an appointment-based studio, and we encourage all clients to book online whenever possible. Online booking is the best way to view current availability, choose your preferred piercer, and reduce waiting times.
Need help? Visit the studio, and one of our Counter Staff members will gladly guide you through the online booking process.
Walk-ins are always welcome when availability allows; however, service is never guaranteed and depends on our appointment schedule and studio capacity.
If you can't find an appointment that works for you or need help choosing the right appointment, please contact us. We're happy to help.
Choosing the Right Appointment
Please select the appointment that best matches the service you need.
If you're unsure which appointment to schedule, we're happy to help.
Providing Accurate Information
Please provide your correct name, email address, and phone number when scheduling your appointment.
Accurate information allows us to send appointment confirmations, contact you if needed, and ensure a smooth check-in process.
Appointment Confirmation
After booking your appointment, you will receive an email confirmation.
Please review your confirmation email to verify:
- Appointment date
- Appointment time
- Selected service(s)
- Assigned piercer, if applicable
If you do not receive your confirmation email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
If you still cannot locate your confirmation email or believe your appointment details are incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you before your appointment.
Identification & Age Requirements
Identification requirements apply only to new piercing services.
Clients visiting the studio for services that do not involve a new piercing, such as jewelry purchases, jewelry changes, downsizing, jewelry insertion or removal, consultations, or troubleshooting, are not required to present identification.
For minors, the Piercing Release Form must be completed by the accompanying parent or legal guardian.
Piercing Appointment Check-In
The check-in process for piercing appointments is completed in the following order:
- Check in at the front desk.
- Present any required identification and supporting documentation to the Counter Staff for verification.
- Complete and verify the Piercing Release Form.
- Select jewelry and receive a price quote, if needed.
- Wait for your piercer to begin your appointment.
- Check out after your service is complete.
Completing your paperwork before your appointment begins helps ensure a safe and efficient check-in process.
Identification Requirements
Accepted Identification
Adults (18+)
- Driver's License from any U.S. state
- State ID from any U.S. state
- Passport
If your Driver's License or State ID is being renewed or replaced and you have been issued temporary documentation, you must present both your temporary document and your previous photo ID.
Both documents are required for verification.
Minors
The minor must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian and present one of the following:
- Driver's License, if issued
- State ID, if issued
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- School ID, last resort
If the minor presents a government-issued photo ID, such as a Driver's License, State ID, or Passport, the last name must match the accompanying parent.
If the last names do not match, documentation establishing the relationship is required.
Acceptable documentation includes:
- Birth Certificate
- Court-issued guardianship documents
- Adoption paperwork
- School portal verification showing both the minor and parent or legal guardian, last resort
Legal guardians must always provide court-issued guardianship or other legal documentation establishing legal guardianship, regardless of the last name.
Unacceptable Identification
The following forms of identification are not accepted for piercing services:
- Military ID
- Social Security Card
- Insurance Card
- Tax Documents
- Expired ID
- Punched ID
Military IDs cannot be accepted because federal regulations restrict the copying or scanning of military identification cards, which is required as part of our client recordkeeping process.
Why We Require Identification
Identification helps us:
- Comply with Washington State regulations.
- Verify the identity of our clients.
- Confirm parental or legal guardianship for minors.
- Meet our insurance and recordkeeping requirements.

Notes
- All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and present any required identification and supporting documentation.
- Minimum age requirements are strictly enforced and cannot be waived.
- Meeting the minimum age requirement does not guarantee that a piercing will be performed. Final approval is based on anatomy, health considerations, and the piercer's professional judgment.
First Earlobe Exception
For safety reasons, first earlobe piercings are only performed for:
- Infants under 9 months of age.
- Children 6 years of age and older.
We do not perform first earlobe piercings for children between 10 months and 5 years of age.
Second and third earlobe piercings are available only for clients 9 years of age and older. If the placement is in the ear cartilage, the minimum age is 13 years, even if it is considered a second or third ear piercing.
Children between 10 months and 5 years of age are generally more likely to touch, pull, or accidentally injure new piercings, increasing the risk of irritation and healing complications.
Managing Your Appointment
Life happens and plans sometimes change. This section explains how to modify your appointment, what happens if you arrive late, how cancellations and No-Shows are handled, and what to expect if Tacoma's Best Piercing needs to make changes to your appointment.
Rescheduling
Appointments may be rescheduled, subject to availability and our Deposit, Cancellation, and No-Show Policies.
Whenever possible, please reschedule as early as you can to help maximize appointment availability for all clients.
Appointments may be rescheduled online or by contacting the studio.
Canceling
Appointments must be canceled at least 3 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
If the studio is closed, you must leave a voicemail, send a text message, or send an email before the 3-hour deadline.
Providing advance notice allows us to offer your appointment time to another client.
To ensure fairness for all clients and protect reserved appointment times, this policy is applied consistently.
Rescheduling After the Cancellation Deadline
If fewer than 3 hours remain before your appointment, you may request to reschedule instead of canceling.
Rescheduling requests are subject to availability.
Appointments rescheduled after the cancellation deadline cannot later be changed to a cancellation to avoid the applicable cancellation fee.
Transferring an Appointment
Appointments are reserved for the individual who booked them.
Requests to transfer an appointment must be made at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time and may require additional identification or supporting documentation.
Emergency Situations
If an emergency prevents you from attending your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.
Emergency situations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the studio's discretion.
Contacting the Studio
Appointment changes, cancellations, and transfer requests must be made through Tacoma's Best Piercing's official contact methods.
Whenever possible, please contact us using the same phone number or email address used when booking your appointment.
Requests submitted through social media or other unofficial communication channels cannot be used to modify appointments.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for check-in, completion of your Piercing Release Form, identification verification when required, and jewelry selection.
Appointments are scheduled back-to-back, so we are generally unable to hold appointments for more than 5 minutes after the scheduled start time.
If you expect to arrive late, please contact the studio as soon as possible.
Arriving more than 5 minutes late may require your appointment to be rescheduled.
When availability permits, we may be able to move your appointment to a later time the same day. This option cannot be guaranteed.
If your late arrival prevents us from completing your appointment or would delay other scheduled clients, your appointment may be considered a No-Show.
Cancellations & No-Shows
Our scheduling policies help us respect every client's reserved appointment time while keeping appointments available for others.
Late Cancellations
Appointments canceled with less than 3 hours' notice are considered late cancellations and are subject to the applicable cancellation fee.
If you miss the cancellation deadline, you may still request rescheduling your appointment, subject to availability.
No-Shows
A No-Show occurs when a client:
- Does not arrive for a scheduled appointment.
- Arrives too late for the appointment to be completed.
- Does not contact the studio before the end of the business day.
No-Shows may result in:
- Applicable cancellation or No-Show fees.
- Loss of any applicable deposit.
- Future appointments requiring a deposit or prepayment.
Travel Delays
Please allow extra travel time for traffic, ferry delays, flights, road construction, and severe weather.
Travel delays do not automatically waive our cancellation or No-Show Policies.
If We Need to Change Your Appointment
Although uncommon, circumstances beyond our control may require Tacoma's Best Piercing to reschedule or cancel an appointment.
Examples include:
- Studio closure.
- Severe weather.
- Power outage.
- Equipment failure.
- Piercer illness or emergency.
- Other unforeseen circumstances.
If this happens, we will contact you using the information provided when your appointment is booked.
Whenever possible, you may choose to:
- Reschedule with the same piercer.
- Schedule with another available piercer.
- Select another available appointment time.
- Cancel your appointment.
Any applicable deposit will be handled in accordance with our Deposit Policy.
